At Livingstone Brown, we appreciate that one of the main reasons why people delay going to see a solicitor is because they are worried about the potential cost. When clients do come in, they are often surprised at how little legal advice costs, and they can how getting good advice and support can make a major difference to the problem they face. That's why we offer potential clients the opportunity to have a brief chat with a solicitor on a completely no obligation basis. The solicitor will indicate what options might be open to you, whether legal aid might be available, and if not how much legal work is likely to cost. If there's a fixed price option, we'll let you know what this would be. Sometimes fixed prices aren't possible, as it can't be accurately predicted in advance how much work will be required. In such cases, we'll agree an initial payment and a convenient instalment arrangement (by standing order) that will let you keep control of the costs. If, having been told all this, you don't want to go ahead, that's fine - there will be no charge to you. Please note that during a brief meeting like this, we can only provide general information about your legal problem, not legal advice; if you decide to go ahead, we'll look into your problem in much greater detail.
Our private fee charging rates are highly competitive. For example, our fixed price rates for divorces start at as little as £350 plus VAT and outlays (court dues, etc).
