Livingstone Brown’s Glasgow City office has been a presence on the south side of the river for twenty five years.  Located in the impressive terraces of Carlton Place, the office is close to the city centre (only a few minutes from Glasgow Central station and St. Enoch Square) and to the city’s sheriff court, which is located at the end of the street.

The Glasgow City office has three key departments: Criminal, Civil and Asylum & Immigration.  For more details about the Asylum & Immigration Department, click here.

The Criminal Department, headed by Gerard Brown CBE,  deals with all areas of criminal law, from minor road traffic infringements through to serious crimes prosecuted in the Sheriff and High Courts.  The department assists clients through legal aid and on a private basis, and can also represent the interests of companies which face health and safety or other prosecutions.  The department also assists clients who are involved in fatal accident inquiries.

The Civil Department is run by Julia Donnelly, an experienced family lawyer and civil litigator, who has been with the firm for almost twenty years.  The department assist clients with a diverse range of issues, including:

Family law (divorce, separation, residence, contact, parental rights, financial provision upon divorce).
Private client (wills, executries, powers of attorney, guardianships).
Conveyancing  (domestic house purchases and sales).
• Civil litigation (personal injury, professional negligence, interdicts, sequestrations, breach of contract, mortgage rights matters, debt matters, fatal accident inquiries).
General reparation (road traffic accidents, trip and fall, slip, product liability, damp housing and landlord and tenant issues).
Social and welfare (children’s rights, educational needs, supports).
Human rights
Judicial review
• Child Protection
(social work referrals, appeals, child protection orders)

Accessibility:
The office is at pavement level (though there are small steps at the entrance).  All of our interview rooms can be accessed by wheelchairs, although some rooms need another small step to be negotiated.  If there are any concerns in respect of accessibility, telephone appointments are of course available.

Opening times:

In addition, we operate a 24 hour service for emergencies only.  Calls to the normal office number are redirected to a solicitor who should be able to office advice.  The solicitor will not be in the office, and may not have access to client files; please only call the emergency number where there is no alternative.

Please note, however, that by arrangement or agreement, urgent telephone appointments can be held in the early evening where necessary.  We understand that you may have competing commitments including either work or family and we hope to be able to accommodate your needs where necessary.
