Law Awards of Scotland 2005 - Solicitor of the Year

David was formerly the partner in charge of the firm's Glasgow Asylum & Immigration Department.  Having retired as a partner, he is now a consultant in the same department.  David is a leading practitioner in the developing area of asylum law.  In recognition of his skill, professionalism and compassion he was named Solicitor of the Year at the Law Awards of Scotland 2005.  The award was presented to him by Donald Findlay QC.  David also deals with immigration cases, for both private individuals and companies.  Before joining the firm, David ran one of the country's largest Citizens' Advice Bureaux, and was also active in local politics.

Euan MacKay, Senior Associate

Euan works in the Glasgow City Asylum & Immigration Department.  He has been with the firm for a number of years and during that time has built up an expertise in all aspects of Asylum, Immigration and Human Rights work. In asylum cases he assists with initial applications, subsequent reviews and appeals as well as representing clients in bail and deportation hearings. He regularly takes judicial review applications to the Court of Session.  He also assists clients, both individuals and companies, in connection with immigration matters. He has a keen interest in the European and Human Rights implications of cases and the wider scope that such an approach can afford applicants who are vulnerable, at risk or in difficult circumstances.


Caroline Kavanagh, Associate

Caroline Kavanagh joined the firm in 2011, after working for another large Glasgow firm of solicitors.  She is based at the Easterhouse office.  Her main interests are in civil law, including family (divorce, separation, contact and residence) and child protection (children's hearings, appeals, referral proofs and social work disputes).  She has experience of all forms of civil litigation, and will work tirelessly to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
