Settlement Agreements

Practical and effective solutions for your employment issues.

Settlement Agreements Glasgow

A settlement agreement (sometimes known as a compromise agreement) is a legally binding document which offers an employee and employer a smooth way of terminating their employment relationship.

At Livingstone Brown our expert team of employment lawyers can advise you about:

  • the consequences of signing a settlement agreement;
  • what you will receive if you sign the agreement; and
  •  what you are giving up by signing the agreement.

It is a legal requirement that employees obtain legal advice from a solicitor before signing a settlement agreement and your employer should contribute towards the cost of obtaining this advice.

Happy with the terms of the agreement?

If you are happy to sign the agreement we will restrict our fee to match the contribution your employer is making. This means you won’t have to pay anything towards obtaining our expert advice.

Looking for more?

If you want to negotiate a better exit package then we will estimate how long this will take our employment solicitors and advise you about how much extra this might cost. We will always try and negotiate an increase to the contribution your employer is making so that even if we do need to spend time working on getting you more, you don’t need to pay for this.
