The team supported the family by compiling and lodging a formal complaint to Police Scotland’s Professional Standards Department, detailing some 32 alleged failures in the police’s conduct in carrying out its investigation. As a result of this complaint, and following a number of subsequent multi-party conferences with the Crown and expert pathologists, the team persuaded the Lord Advocate to re-open the criminal investigation into Demi’s death.
