Laura is a trainee solicitor within Livingstone Brown’s Specialist Litigation Practice Area unit. She is based in the flagship Glasgow City office. Laura joined the firm as an intern in October 2021 with the Core Crime team, while studying at university.

Laura has experience with negotiating with the Crown, with success in the discontinuation of criminal proceedings. Laura also has had a recent focus on solemn criminal appeals and routinely assists practice heads and consultants with the building of both complex civil and criminal cases.

Laura is a graduate of the University of Glasgow and the University of Strathclyde, where she gained her Scots Law (Hons) LLB and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. Laura has a keen focus on prisoner’s rights and has undertaken further study with the University of Leeds, surrounding the issue of whether imprisonment is a suitable punishment for criminal behaviour.

In her spare time, Laura has an interest in scuba diving, being a PADI certified diver, and is also a past three-time Scottish Champion in Acrobatic Gymnastics. Laura has also recently taken up running and participated in Great Scottish Run as part of Livingstone Brown’s charity team who fundraised for St Andrew’s Hospice.
