Mairi graduated with First Class Honours in Law (LLB) from Edinburgh Napier University, where she focused in her final year on children’s rights, domestic abuse, and family law in general. Her honours year included a dissertation on civil remedies available to victims of domestic abuse and their effectiveness. She then went on to complete the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Strathclyde. Throughout her studies, Mairi worked as a legal assistant, gaining hands-on experience in a wide range of private client and family matters. Since 2023, she has also served as a member of the Children’s Panel. Since starting her employment at Livingstone Brown has gained further experience of family and private client work, including carrying out legal research, framing asset-schedules in divorce cases, drafting powers of attorney and working on estates. She has a friendly and approachable manner.

Outside of her legal work, Mairi enjoys keeping active with Pilates and spending time outdoors walking her dog, Rupert.
