Olivia McGrory is a Trainee Solicitor within Livingstone Brown’s Specialist Litigation Team and is based in the firm’s Glasgow office. She joined the firm in 2023 as a Legal Intern before commencing her traineeship with the firm in June 2026. 

Olivia graduated from The University of Edinburgh with an LLB before completing the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at University of Strathclyde. During her studies, Olivia worked with the Citizens Advice Edinburgh, assisting members of the public across a range of matters and developing valuable client-facing experience. 

In her final year, Olivia wrote her dissertation on the sufficiency of Scottish rape shield legislation in protecting complainers from detrimental sexual history evidence in sexual offence cases, with a particular focus on the balance between complainer protection and the accused’s right to a fair trial. 

Throughout her time at Livingstone Brown, Olivia has gained experience assisting with a range of complex civil and criminal litigation matters, including appellate work, regulatory issues, and high-profile cases.

Outside of work, Olivia enjoys travelling, baking, and spending time with her family and friends.
